Msgr. Farina dies, longtime priest was noted for his support of the arts and Catholic history
At a Feb. 15 Memorial Mass at St. Patrick Church in downtown Washington, Msgr. Michael Di Teccia Farina was remembered as a faithful and dedicated parish priest, a patron of the arts and a leader in the effort to promote and preserve local Catholic history.

Veteran priest enjoys being a part of the lives of the families he serves
When he was a seminarian studying for the priesthood in the 1940s in his native Baltimore, Msgr. W. Louis Quinn's seminary rector gave him advice that still rings true for the priest nearly seven decades later. "(He said), 'You'll have plenty of time to rest in heaven!'" Msgr. Quinn said in a recent interview.

Friends remember Father Neal Ward as a priest who loved and served his people
Father Neal Ward and Bishop William Curlin were friends and then brother priests for nearly 60 years. They studied as seminarians together at St. Mary's Seminary in Baltimore and then were ordained side-by-side as priests of the Archdiocese of Washington in 1957 at St. Matthew's Cathedral.

The priest is a soldier in the army of the Lord
Some years ago I was in college, majoring in computer science, and dating a beautiful young woman. An older priest, then-Msgr. William Curlin, told me that he thought I was called to be a priest. I was puzzled as to how to react.
