Blessed Sacrament of Washington rode the hot shooting of Kieran Corbin and Harrison Inge all the way to a 49-36 victory over St. Elizabeth’s of Rockville in the 14U boys’ Catholic Youth Organization basketball championship game played at DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville on Feb. 17.
The game offered a contrast in styles with Blessed Sacrament playing a disciplined, patterned offense versus St. Elizabeth’s wide open fast-paced style. No one shoots more 3-point shots than the Saints.
St. Elizabeth’s jumped to an 8-0 lead with Grant Noel making two threes on the first two possessions, but the game settled into a physical battle with every shot contested and Blessed Sacrament held a 20-17 lead at the half.
