In celebration of the 2025 Jubilee of Hope and the 25th anniversary of the Great Jubilee of the Year 2000, the Saint John Paul II National Shrine in Washington, D.C., is hosting an exhibit on the jubilee tradition.

The exhibit, which begins this month and continues through August, will highlight Pope St. John Paul II’s thoughts on the advent of the Third Millennium and connect the Jubilee Year 2000 with this year’s Jubilee of Hope.

It features panels with catechetical explanations on the tradition and theology of the jubilee, as well as objects and memorabilia from the shrine’s collection from the celebrations of the Jubilee of the Year 2000. Visitors will have the opportunity to proceed through the shrine’s main exhibit – “A Gift of Love, The Life of Saint John Paul II” – where panels will guide them through the key moments of the saintly pope’s pontificate that were related to the Jubilee of the Year 2000.

The exhibit also features a life-size replica of the Holy Doors, with a detailed explanation of the images found on them. Throughout the exhibit, there are the words, teachings, and examples from the life of Saint John Paul II that resonate with this year’s Jubilee of Hope.

Tours of the main exhibit, which includes the Jubilee temporary display, are available in English and Spanish. The Saint John Paul II National Shrine is located at 3900 Harewood Road, N.E. in Washington, D.C. For more information, visit www.jp2shrine.org or call 202-635-5401.
