On Wednesday, Nov. 1, the Catholic Church celebrates the Solemnity of All Saints, a holy day of obligation honoring all saints, known and unknown. 

On All Souls' Day, Thursday, Nov. 2 (not a holy day of obligation), the Church commemorates deceased family members and loved ones.

On both days, Cardinal Wilton Gregory will celebrate the 12:10 p.m. Mass at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle in Washington.
