Cardinal Robert W. McElroy will ordain five new priests for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington during a Mass of Ordination to the Priesthood on Saturday June 20 at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
The five men who will be ordained as new priests for the Archdiocese of Washington include:
- Deacon Pedro Antonio López Berrios, a native of Nicaragua
- Deacon Federico José Mariano, a native of Argentina
- Deacon Brendan Basil Parlett, a native of Washington, D.C.
- Deacon Jessiah S. Rojas, a native of Silver Spring, Maryland
- Deacon David Ezequiel Narváez Vargas, a native of Ecuador
The public is invited to attend the Mass of Ordination to the Priesthood. After the ordination Mass, the new priests will bless people in chapels at the basilica.
The Mass will be recorded fully and uploaded to the Archdiocese of Washington’s YouTube channel following its conclusion.
Profiles of the five new priests will appear on the Catholic Standard website at www.cathstan.org on the five days prior to the ordination, with a new profile appearing each day.
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington is home to more than 655,000 Catholics, and it includes 140 parishes and 90 schools, located within Washington, D.C., and the five surrounding Maryland counties of Calvert, Charles, Montgomery, Prince George’s and St. Mary’s.
