Women helping women was a driving force as dozens of volunteers from local non-profit, Girl Talk, gathered to wrap and decorate hundreds of baby supplies and new-mother necessities donated for the residents of the Northwest Pregnancy Center. Girl Talk Executive Director, Julie Larkin delivered a trunk full of gifts to the Center on Dec. 15
Maria Meli, the center’s director, said, “The Northwest Center thrives because of groups like Girl Talk that provide such essential and heartfelt donations to the families we serve. We are so grateful to the support we have received! Our moms and babies benefit enormously from the generosity, especially during the holiday season when needs are always a little greater. Thank you, Girl Talk.”
For 40 years, the center has provided housing, resources, and counseling to in-crisis mothers-to-be. Girl Talk’s founder, Julie Larkin added, “Girl Talk’s goal in partnering with the Northwest Center was to live out our mission to recognize and radiate every woman’s true value and self-worth. This service day was an opportunity to bring that to life. Every single person is created with inherent dignity, so we found a fun and joyful way for our mission to embrace and support these moms and their sweet babies.”
