Thanksgiving week in 2019 unfolded throughout the Archdiocese of Washington through prayers and charitable outreach. Washington Archbishop Wilton Gregory celebrated a Thanksgiving Mass at St. Anthony Church on Nov. 26, where students from St. Anthony Catholic School brought up offertory gifts that included food that they had collected for those in need. Students at Archbishop Carroll High School collected and distributed 13,000 pounds of food to 300 families in the D.C. area in the school's annual Thanksgiving Food Drive, believed to be one of the largest such high school efforts in the United States. And Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington partnered with the Pepco energy company to host an annual Thanksgiving dinner for 350 homeless and poor guests. (CS Photos by Andrew Biraj)
