On June 20, 2026, Cardinal Robert W. McElroy ordained five new priests for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

The five men — Father Brendan Basil Parlett, Father Federico José Mariano, Father Pedro Antonio López Berrios, Father David Ezequiel Narváez Vargas and Father Jessiah S. Rojas — came from Maryland and three Latin American countries, each answering God's call to priesthood by a different path. Summarizing their journeys, Cardinal McElroy said, “Five separate pathways, one destination.”
